Ministry Opportunities

Community Meal
The ESUMC soup kitchen has grown beyond simply serving a meal as a Soup Kitchen to developing richer relationships with our guests as we host a community meal. This has taken outstanding collaboration within our congregation, the local business community, and other churches.
East Stroudsburg United Methodist Church has been called a “safe place” as we have all learned to develop mutual trust. Everyone is important to keeping a community alive and well.
If you would like to help in any way, please contact Ana Price at (570)460-8423 or call the church office.

Family and Youth
The Family/Youth/Children Ministry is focused on guiding students through their journey with Christ and guiding families through that same journey. These ministries run with each other and have the same goal in mind: enrooting yourself in Jesus Christ.
That’s our passion here – to provide studies, events, games, ideas, servanthood, and many more opportunities to make this vision tangible. We are a body of Christ and the Family, Youth, and Children Ministries are just the start of your journey with Christ.
For more information on programming or to serve this community, please contact Maria Martinez at mmartinez@esumc.net for children’s ministry, including nursery and Sunday School.

Christian Education
Our Discipleship Ministry is dedicated to growing deeper disciples of Christ Jesus our Lord through spiritual growth opportunities. The goal is to support the congregation through every aspect of their spiritual walk by offering several Church-wide studies as well as small group courses to grow deeper in our faith.
The ministry also seeks to grow and develop our Youth and Children’s ministry to support our children in their own faith journeys.
For more information, please contact our church office at church@esumc.net.

Caring Cards, Calls and Visits
If you have a heart for bringing cheer into a homebound member’s life, this is the ministry for you. Members who wish to take part in one or all three aspects of this ministry are assigned one or two people who have expressed a desire to hear from our congregation from time to time.
Cards, visits, or calls are made on a monthly basis and are determined by the volunteer’s schedule for maximum blessings!
To participate in this ministry see the current Director of Congregational Care or call the church office (570-421-3280).

Angel Tree/Christmas Outreach
ESUMC participates in Prison Fellowship’s Angel Tree gift drive every December.
We also include names of children provided by Monroe County’s Youth and Family Services to broaden the impact our gifts can bring to the greater East Stroudsburg district.
Participation by members is purely voluntary.

Spring/Fall Outreach to College Students, Young Adults & Military Personnel
The Congregational Care Team oversees the distribution of gift cards to the above during the Christmas season and sends out notes of encouragement in the Spring. Gift cards are donated by the members of the congregation and the congregation is encouraged to sign cards for the Spring mailing.
