F.A.Q.
For Our Guests
When are your services?
ESUMC has two Sunday worship services, a traditional service at 8:30 a.m. and a contemporary service at 10:45 a.m. (Each month with 5 Sundays, we have a combined service at 10:00 a.m. Some holidays have modified schedules as well.) For more information, please visit our Church Services page!
What should I wear?
At ESUMC, you’ll find a wide variety of attire from jeans and t-shirts to business casual clothing. So don’t worry about your clothes, please wear whatever you feel comfortable wearing.
Where can I park?
ESUMC owns a portion of the parking surrounding the church building. As you face the front of the church, we own the lot to the left and behind the church. To the right, there are unmarked spaces and metered and permit parking lots owned by the Borough.
We encourage all Sunday visitors to park in non-permit spaces. Metered spaces are free every Sunday, and require payment Monday-Saturday until 5 p.m.
Which door should I use?
ESUMC is an older, brick building with a lot of external doors! Prior to the services, all exterior doors are typically unlocked. Some doors are locked after services begin for the safety of our children and congregation.
Do you have an elevator?
ESUMC’s elevator was recently renovated in 2023 and is directly behind the church. The elevator goes to Fellowship Hall (gymnasium), which is on the same level as the Sanctuary.
Where do I go when I get to ESUMC?
Once you’re here, stop by Oberholtzer Hall, adjacent to the Sanctuary, to speak with someone from the Welcome Team. Our volunteers are happy to share info about Worship, Sunday School, the church nursery, and answer your questions.
If I’m early, what should I expect?
Prior to both services, ESUMC’s Holy Grounds Café offers complimentary refreshments in the Fellowship Hall (gymnasium), which is on the same level as the Sanctuary. Grab light refreshments, coffee and share time with our church family!
What does ESUMC offer for children and youth?
ESUMC has programs for children and youth and also provides infant/toddler care and a preschool nursery class during services. Please plan on arriving 10 minutes early to complete our sign-in for the Nursery and to get a Parent badge. For more information, please visit our Church Services page.
When do you take Communion?
ESUMC offers Communion on the first Sunday of each month during both services. The United Methodist Church is an open communion for all who feel led to participate.
